This look is beyond simple, and I got so many compliments on it. It’s a great alternative to the usual reds and darker tones we often wear during the holiday season. Follow these easy steps to achieve this winter wonderland look for New Years Eve!

What you will need:

• 20 minutes
• A base colour (I love this bright, indigo winter blue)
• Sparkle accent colour (this one was rather thick and opaque, a more clear glitter like this would work beautifully as well)
• Clear top coat

Steps:

1. Apply 2 coats of base colour
2. Let dry for 5 minutes
3. Apply a thin layer of sparkle accent colour to bottom half of nails only. Let dry for 5 minutes
4. Add a second coat of glitter to the tips of the nails only (as though you are doing a french manicure) This will create a more opaque look at the end of the nail and complete the subtle ombre effect.

When you are done, you may feel the glitter feels a bit thick, or chunky on the tips of your nails. I added one layer of top coat and it completely smoothed over it, adding a little extra shine.
