I was lucky enough to receive a few amazing items from the Almay line while attending the Spark Sessions Beauty and Fashion Blogger conference a few weeks ago. I wanted to share my favourites with you, which include the Almay Smart Shade Mousse Foundation, Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm, and the new Almay Shadow Softies by Intense-I-Color (coming soon to Canada!)
Almay Shadow Softies by Intense-I-Color
The Shadow Softies are exactly what the name suggests. The colour is soft, subtle and buildable. I don’t normally wear eyeshadow, but when I do it’s usually super pigmented. I was a bit confused the first time I used this product because it didn’t seem like any of the colour was transferring onto the brush. But after applying a few layers, I noticed a very light colour start to appear. These colours are perfect for people just starting to play around with shadow because you can easily build from a very light application. They come in a ton of colours and though some of them look vibrant and maybe a little intimidating I would encourage you to try a colour that is outside of your comfort zone!
Almay Smart Shade Mousse Makeup
The Smart Shade Mousse is magic. It goes on white and matches to my skin colour perfectly. I don’t know how Almay did it and I don’t need to. All I know is that it goes on velvety smooth and stays put all day long. I have been using the same Bourjois foundation for almost two years. And because I have sensitive, rosacea prone skin I am always nervous to try new products on my skin. But the Almay line is hypoallergenic and specifically formulated for sensitive skin- something I didn’t know until recently. It can also be layered without becoming cakey, which is great for covering the redness caused by rosacea!
Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm
These lip balms are amazing. Don’t be intimidated by the bold colours because once you apply them they are actually quite sheer. They are moisturizing with a pop of subtle colour, perfect for people who hate sticky, goopy lip gloss. We’ve all been there when a gust of wind comes along and you are stuck picking your hair out of your lipgloss. Not cool. I will definitely be repurchasing these in a variety of colours!
