“That Gal” is yet another adorably named product by Benefit. I received a mini sample of this from the Spark Sessions Conference in November. I was instantly hooked, and when the sample ran out I immediately purchased this full sized bottle (above). I picked it up at Shoppers Drugmart ($35) and you can also get it at Sephora for the same price.

This primer differs from others I’ve tried because of the texture. It feels more like a light moisturizer than a primer, and it dries way faster than Gosh or Smashbox versions. As time is always a top priority, this is great when I am in a rush to get to work (*cough* every morning *cough*).

It has just a hint of illuminating shimmer that instantly brightens your skin and adds a subtle glow. No one wants a disco ball face! You turn the bottom to dispense a small amount at a time. I actually really prefer this to tubes, because I felt that I had a lot more control and could turn one extra “click” if I needed more without having to waste any product.

If you’re having a great skin day you can wear this alone, but I always layer my foundation on top. It helps my makeup stay put all day long! It can also be used over top of your makeup as a highlighter along your cheekbones! This is great because I am running out of my Smashbox highlighter. Two products in one is always a plus in my books!

Once it’s rubbed it, you can barely notice it. You can only see a subtle pink shimmer on the skin, which is perfect because you want a primer that will easily blend with your makeup or add a hint of colour if you are wearing it alone.
