Right to left: Love, Kristen, Judi, Warm Fig Shimmer Eye Sheen

This month I changed it up and selected the February Bombshell box. I almost always go for the Boho Glam, but I really wanted to try out these colours! And Julep also threw in a limited edition polish called Love just to say thank you! Love is a lovely gold, pearl & fuchsia microglitter.

Judi and Kristen:

Judi is a dark violet crème. This is with two coats, and I should have done three. It was still a little streaky but I had already applied the top coat before I realized. It’s a very pretty purple and I don’t have anything else in this shade. Overall I really like it!

Kristen is deep sea teal with silver microshimmer. I used it to apply hearts on my right finger, but sadly they didn’t show up very well on camera! This colour is darker than I thought it would be, but I still like it a lot.

Love:

This gorgeous micro-glitter is perfect for a party or special occasion. I wish I had this for my holiday party back in December! I used three coats here, but it would also look great layered over a dark base coat. The downside was that this polish took a VERY long time to remove. I ended up having to soak my fingers in nail polish remover for 1o minutes just to get it off. For that reason I will only use it as a top coat over a base colour, three layers of this stuff is way too much to scrub off!

Warm Fig Shimmer Eye Sheen:

This is a shimmery plum colour that I was really excited to try out. Purples are a great accent colour for green eyes! I was expecting this to be more of a cream consistency, but it’s actually more of a liquid. If you’ve ever used Benefit’s Highbeam luminizer, it’s very similar to that. Julep suggests using your finger tips to sheer it over your lids. I struggled to dab it on evenly because it dries so fast. And once it dries, it does not come off.  It didn’t sheer out like a cream would, so I’ll have to try a few more times to perfect the application. Also if you open your eyes before it’s fully dry, it gets caked into your eye crease! Great staying power but working with the formula was difficult.
