Revlon launched these balms last year and they have quickly become some of my favourite lip products. The lacquer colours have a beautiful glossy finish and the matte balms have a velvety cream texture.
As you can tell from the photo above, the lacquer balm has been bouncing around in my makeup bag a lot, and I use it a ton. It has such a nice shiny colour and is quite moisturizing because of the shea, coconut and mango butters in it. I picked this up at Shoppers Drugmart and was unsure at first because it has a subtle shimmer to it, but once you apply it you can barely notice the sparkles. It does have a slightly gritty texture when you rub your lips together, but it didn’t bother me.
I got the last matte balm in this colour from Shoppers a few weeks ago and I am so glad I did! It is more pigmented than the lacquer, and it includes the same moisturizing butters as the lacquer. The colour is vibrant, which I love! On a busy day it’s the perfect one step makeup trick to add some extra glamour. Downside is that this formula shows the cracks in your lips if they are dry and peeling (which mine currently are) so I have to be sure to apply lip balm first. Out of the two, I am favouring the matte balm.

Have you tried either of these balms? If so, which one is your favourite?

I don’t own any lacquer, but I have the matte in sultry and it’s fantastic!

Glad to hear you like them too I think once my lips aren’t so dry from the winter I will love the matte balms even more!
