Date Night Look with Revlon

February 24, 2014 15 Comments

This look was original meant for Valentine’s Day, but  I ended up getting a last minute appointment to get laser eye surgery done on that day, so sadly my date night had to wait. A small price to pay for 20/20 vision!

The look I created is great for any date night – not just Valentine’s Day! It’s fun and flirty and super easy to achieve. Let’s jump into it!

My favourite colour is mint, but since you can’t reasonably walk around with mint lipstick and blush on your face (or can you….) pink is my favourite colour when it comes to makeup!

Left to right: Revlon Colorburst Balm Lacquer in Cocquette, Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow, Revlon Cream Blush in Flushed,  Revlon Nail Enamel in 280 Bubbly, and Revlon Colorburst Balm Matte in Showy.

Swatches below!

280 Bubbly Nail polish

Two coats of Bubble and a top coat, super simple! This colour is brighter than it looks in the photo. The name is perfect because it really is a bright bubble gum pink!

Left to right: Cream blush in Flushed (before blending), Highlighting palette in Rose Glow

This blush is totally new to me. I’ve never used cream blush and when I first dabbed it on my cheeks I was shocked at how bright it was. But after gently blending with my fingertips the colour softened to a lovely pink shade.

Sorry the highlighter is so difficult to see in this swatch! It’s very subtle and shimmery which I love. Although I did find some of the pieces of shimmer to be a little too large, so they didn’t blend as well as I would like.

Left to right: Colorburst balm lacquer in Cocquette, Colorburst balm matte in Showy.

Both of these balms have a nice minty feel, and go on smooth. The lacquer colours have a beautiful glossy finish and the matte balms have a velvety cream texture. I want these in every colour! I still require a balm underneath because my lips are just so dry.

Also bear in mind that the lacquers all have glitter in them, so if that’s not your jam you may want to go with the matte.

To create this look I dabbed the cream blush on the apples of my cheeks and blended. Then I brushed the highlighting palette along the top of my cheek bones to add a dewy glow.

Next up is lips! I applied my favourite chapstick first, then applied a light layer of the Revlon matte balm. This colour is so pigmented I love it! But I wanted a slightly more sheer look so I blended it with my finger tips to soften the colour.

Finally I applied liquid liner, mascara and used the highlighting palette again on my lids for a little extra sparkle.

I curled my hair and this is the final look! I think this is a great feminine look for a date night! All pink everythang!

I love the way you combined all products into one look. I adore cream blushes! Can’t believe this is the first one you’ve tried! Also congrats on the 20/20 vision, I definitely want to get the surgery someday!

(ps there is a typo in your post where it says foundation instead of blush I think)

Thanks Jasmine! Even though I love pink for makeup I don’t have many pink polishes. I was happy to add this to the mix 🙂

    Beautiful!
I too love mint but agree that as makeup it’s not the best choice. 🙂
I really like the pink look you came up with.

I have a mint obsession! It was even the colour of my bridesmaid dresses in my wedding last year 🙂 I’m a pink lipstick kinda gal, you can never have enough! lol
