Annabelle TwistUp Eyeshadow Crayon + Limited Edition Shenae Grimes Lip Gloss!

I love Shenae Grimes-Beech’s style. She was one of the first on the scene to have ombre hair (back in 2010!) and she always seems to be one step ahead of the next trend. Also she’s Canadian. She gets some awesome-ness points for that right off the bat. She was recently named the new brand ambassador for Canadian company Annabelle Cosmetics, which I’ve been using since I first tried out eye liner in the 10th grade!

Annabelle recently launched their new  TwistUp Retractable Eyeshadow Crayons and I really wanted to try them out. When I went to the website I saw that every purchase would receive a free limited edition lipgloss called Shenae Grimes-Beech BIGSHOW Lip Shine inspired by Shenae. They even printed her signature on each one. What happened next goes without saying. ADD TO CART!

I created a look using both of these products, but first – we swatch!

The paraben-free TwistUp Eyeshadow Crayons come in 6 pastel metallic shades, and they claim to stay put on your lids for 10 hours straight! For a procrastinator like me, there is something appealing about an eyeshadow that does not require any brush. This went on silky smooth and was super pigmented. It’s showing a bit silver here, but it was a gorgeous metallic lavender shade. I actually used this in my inner corners as well instead of a highlighter.

Spoiler alert – it stays on a really long time. I put it on in the afternoon so I can’t vouch for the 10 hour staying power, but it did not crease or smudge for the 6 hours I had it on. And for less that $10 each, I am definitely picking these up in other shades.

Shenae Grimes-Beech BIGSHOW Lip Shine (colour is called Beam) is gorgeous. I thought it was going to be pink, but it’s more of a rose-gold shade. I’m obsessed. I normally hate frosty and glittery lipglosses but this is an exception. I’ve worn it every day since I got it! The formula is great, it’s not sticky but it has staying power. I am a lip-biter (a habit I am trying to break), and I find when I have lipgloss on it helps prevent me from biting. This particular lip shine is limited to online only, but there are a ton of other colours available which you can pick up at any Shoppers Drugmart.

Here’s the complete look!

Most days winged liner is the only eye makeup I wear, I’ve had lots of practice! Shadow is another things completely, I’m still figuring that out 🙂

YAY loving the Almay smartshade! Review post coming Friday.

Thanks Zoe! Most shadow crayons I’ve used before are so soft that they almost crumbled while applying. These ones glide on so smooth! Def would recommend them 🙂

I *LOVE* this eyeshadow on you — also, the liner. But that shadow looks like the perfect blend of silver and purple, pigmented and wash-y.

Now I demand daily eyeliner lessons.

Maybe that should be one of my new tutorials! I pretty much only wear liquid liner 🙂

And yes, the colour of that shadow crayon is divine!
