A Pop of Colour with The Body Shop!

Left to right: Absinthe Purifying Hand Cream, Colour Crush Eye Shadow, Plum Lip Gloss

I recently received these three products and I couldn’t wait to try them out! I haven’t been into The Body Shop for a few months and I was excited to experiment with some new things. Their Body Butters have always been a staple in my skincare routine, but I haven’t tried many of their cosmetics. You can imagine my delight when I opened the box and saw a bright blue shadow! I love playing with bright colours whether it be a lipstick, liquid liner or an eyeshadow. I love me some neutrals, but what fun is makeup if you don’t try out all the colours of the rainbow?

Absinthe Hand Cream

This cream is light and refreshing, with a strong (and I mean strong) bergamot scent. This would be great for guys that don’t like floral or citrus scents. I found it absorbed really well and didn’t leave my skin greasy. If you are a big fan of musky or woody scents this cream is for you!

Colour Crush Eye Shadow

This shadow surprised me. At first it seemed as though it wasn’t very pigmented, but with a second application it brought bright and vibrant colour. Apparently it’s great as an eyeliner if you use a wet liner brush, but I  haven’t tried that yet. I love adding a pop of colour and I never shy away from bright colours. If you want to try something new I suggest checking out these shadows, they come in over 20 shades!

Lip gloss

This gloss is exactly what it claims to be, a high-impact, glossy color. It’s thick but not sticky, and it stayed on my lips for over an hour (which is a feat for a lip chewer like me!) It does have a rather strong scent, but I don’t mind it. I usually go for mint or unscented lip products so it took a little getting used to, but I really like the formula!

Here’s my look using The Body Shop eye shadow and lipgloss!

This is the first Body Shop shadow I’ve used and I really want to pick up a few more colours. Green sounds amazing!

I know what you mean! But I think anyone can wear bright shadow, it’s just finding the right application for you. If you have large eyes you could rock blue over the whole lid! But I have small eyes so I just used it in the crease.

Thanks so much Carly! I find using bright shades in the crease works best for me. Blue all over my lid would be way too much lol 🙂

That eyeshadow looks beautiful on you!
The lipgloss sounds pretty good too, they make a great summer look together.

Thanks Chantal! The lipgloss is my favourite of the three. It’s super shiny, more than other lip glosses I’ve tried recently.

I love that shadow colour! I’m not sure I like the scent of the hand lotion, it’s very strong. I didn’t realize it was bergamot as I have a body butter with that scent, and it smells not at all similar.

I was not a fan of the scent either, though the formula was nice. Just not the right scent for me!

This is sooooo pretty, as usual. I love that there was some staying power with the gloss, which is always a concern for me, as well. 🙂

Thank you Kalyn! I actually prefer thicker glosses so that they have more staying power. Wasn’t crazy about the smell of this one, but the formula was great!

    Hello,

My name is Erin, I was referred over to your company by a blogger that wrote a product review about one of your products. Does your company offer products to many bloggers to review?

      Hi Erin,

I do product reviews for other brands, but I do not have my own line of products for others to review. Sorry about that!
