Thanks to Annette from adorn me. I have recently been a bit obsessed with The Body Shop. I have a bit of nostalgia associated with this brand. I remember walking around the Pen Center (St. Catharines what’s up?!) as a teen and stopping into TBS to sample all the makeup and fragrances. For some reason I always wanted to smell the musk perfume, even though I always hated it! Does anyone else remember those sample fragrance bottles with the glass rod applicators that made you feel like a dainty lady from the 60’s when you applied them? Am I the only one who remembers those? Anyone? Bueller?
I have heard a lot of good things about the Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil, so I went to check it out at my local The Body Shop location. Turns out they have a ton of different products in their Vitamin E Collection, and they had a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale on, so of course I had to pick up a few things : ) I purchased the Overnight Serum and the Eye Cream from the Vitamin E line as well as the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil which I will be reviewing later this week!
Vitamin E Eye Cream ($18 US) ($18 CAN)
“A moisturizing eye cream that helps protect the delicate skin around the eye area, reducing the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Contains moisturizing shea butter and rose hip oil.” – TBS
Ok, I have tried a lot of different eye creams. A LOT. I always have such high hopes and usually I am let down. This eye cream claims to reduce the appearance of the main issues we have with under eye skin including puffiness, fine lines and dark circles.
After using it for 3 weeks I am pretty impressed. It does a great job of hydrating my eye area without being greasy and it smooths over my fine lines nicely. When the skin around my eye is nicely hydrated it prevents makeup from settling into fine line which is awesome! Sometimes eye creams are too thick and can pill under makeup, but not this one!
A little goes a long way, and at $18 this is one of the more affordable eye creams I’ve tried!
Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil ($26 US) ($28 CAD)
“Experience 8 hour beauty sleep for your skin with Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil. With a unique texture, this non-greasy, fast-absorbing formula delivers fuss-free, instant skin comfort! This technical innovation combines power and indulgence to replenish and recharge skin with moisture overnight.” -TBS
I love this serum. I LOVE IT! I have used so many serums in the past and figured this was just going to be a hydrating night oil to use in place of a night cream.
It comes in a glass container with an eye dropper applicator. I prefer this rather than repeatedly putting my fingers into a pot of lotion (it’s just more sanitary). It also allows me to have control over exactly how many drops I apply.
This serum was exactly what I expected and so much more! I can honestly say my skin has been transformed by this oil. I love the smell of it, I can’t describe it but it smells amazing. It’s sort of floral but very light. The first time I used it I woke up in the morning to radically different skin. My skin was dewy and my rosacea was noticeably reduced. I have been using this every night for almost a month and I will be repurchasing it once I am done.
I have dry and sensitive skin and this serum has worked amazingly for me. If I really want to pump up the moisture I apply my Lush Celestial moisturizer on top as sort of leave-on night mask. This is quickly approaching Holy Grail status for me!
Have you tried anything from The Body Shop Vitamin E Collection? What is you favourite The Body Shop product? Let me know in the comments!

Haha!! Nope, I remember those old perfume vials, too 😛 I can’t count how many times I sniffed the musk one as a teen! (I never fell in love with it, either.)
I never paid much attention to The Body Shop’s Vitamin E oil past noting that it was silicone-free, but now I really want to try it! My skin’s been doing a little better this summer, but it’s still painfully dry. I might have to give this a go once I finish testing a couple more moisturizers and oils 😉

I’ve used a ton of serums and usually they work really well for just one thing like hydrating or soothing. But this one does it all!

That serum has got to be the only oil that I’ve loved (finished it a month ago), and I have super oily skin so oils rarely work on me!
Megan Joy says
Nice! I have dry skin and it works on me too. Looks like it’s ok for all different skin types then which is awesome.

I remember those glass perfume rods. I used to wear their Pink Pepper perfume all the time as my signature scent. I was so sad when they discontinued it.
I’ve only tried the Vitamin E face sorbet, but I love it. The eye cream sounds really good.

Why don’t they have those perfume rods anymore? They made me feel so gosh darn fancy lol

So glad you’re also loving the oil/serum!! Whenever I visited The Body Shop in my teens I had to smell the satsuma line – loved it then & still love it now

They have such amazing scents that years later are STILL amazing

I have the Vitamin E moisture cream in a super de duper lil’ mini size. I have YET to use it but my plan was to actually use it as an eye cream! You know, I never understood the difference between an eye cream and just a regular moisturizer; is there something substantially significant that makes it special for eyes? (maybe caffeine?)

I’m no skincare professional, so take this with a grain of salt
I think eye creams are formulated specifically for the delicate and thin eye skin which is more fragile than the rest skin on our faces. Also, many eye creams include cooling ingredients to help reduce puffiness and dark circles.
Enjoy the moisture cream, I am sure you are going to love it!

Hello Megan, Both the product seem to be very promising. Will keep this in mind while buying an eye cream.
