I have been a longtime fan of chrome and metallic nail polishes. The new Avon Metallic Effects Nail Enamels  are no exception. This new nail polish collection is available for fall along with another collection called Stardust (which I will be reviewing next week.)

These chrome polishes are $6.99 each and come in 5 shades. They do not contain formaldehyde, toluene or DBP (aka they’re 3-free) and are all one-coaters. I applied two coats just to see how it would hold up but you can definitely get away with one. Avon isn’t the first to go metallic, but these just might be the best ones I’ve tried so far (sorry Essie!).

Jade Reflection

This mossy green is my favourite of all the shades. It was the least streaky and the colour is so pretty for fall. Winner!

Copper Gleam

This is almost an exact dupe for Essie’s Mirror Metallics in Penny Talk! It looks a lot more copper in the bottle but on the nail it’s a beautiful rose gold colour. This one was the most streaky out of the three but you expect some streaking with metallic polishes so this one still gets a thumbs up!

Icy Purple

This frosty lavender reminds me of the Revlon Perfumerie polish in Lavender Soap. This was my second favourite. It looked both silver and lavender depending on the light.
