Video: NUDESTIX Cosmetics now available at Sephora Canada!

NUDESTIX President and Founder Jenny Frankel began her career working as a chemical engineer for MAC Cosmetics and later for COVER FX. She helped create award winning formulas for both brands! As time passed she noticed there was a real lack of neutral toned makeup in the industry that was well formulated and simple to use. Jenny decided to collaborate with her teenage daughters Ally and Taylor on a cosmetics line that would work with soft natural tones.

Both aspiring models, Ally and Taylor found themselves preferring more “nude” makeup and wanted to help create a cosmetics line that was about highlighting and enhancing, not covering up. And thus – NUDESTIX was born!

All the products (aside from the mascara) come in pencils and the only other tool you need to apply them is your fingertips!

NUDESTIX is available at Sephora (all products are $24.00 US / $28.00 CAD) and you can also find them at Space NK and Urban Outfitters.  They each come with their own carrying tin and cap sharpener. The lid of the tin houses a mirror as well so it’s perfect for on the go touchups. I toss all three of my NUDESTIX into one tin but you can keep them in their own separate tins if you want to avoid them banging together and possibly wearing away the label.

NUDESTIX Magnetic Eye Color in Angel

“A long-wearing, waterproof neutral eye shadow pencil that highlights and delivers intense color, precise lining, and primes lids for all day wear.” – NUDESTIX

This is a super soft creamy pencil that glides on like a dream! I can use it all over my lids, under my brow bone, the inner corner of my eye and even on my cheek bones as a highlighter. This gorgeous champagne colour is perfect for those days you can’t be bothered with eyeshadow. It brightens up your whole eye! You can also use it as a shimmery primer under eyeshadow as it’s waterproof. I did find it creased on me after a few hours but all cream shadows do. This is my favourite!

NUDESTIX Lip + Cheek Pencil in Ripe

“Go fresh-faced with NudeStix Lip + Cheek Pencils. With their neutral shade palette, these sassy, on-the-go makeup sticks provide a quick and easy nude look. Infused with lip and skin moisturizing ingredients including shea butter and vitamin E add peptides to support youthful plumpness, they go on effortlessly to accentuate the finest features.” – NUDESTIX

When I took off the cap I though this pencil looked hard and thought for sure it would tug on my lips and be super drying. I’m happy to say I was very wrong! It works great as a matte lip colour and is surprisingly smooth and hydrating. I don’t normally go for blush in this shade (I stick more to pinks) but I liked this colour as a blush! It was just enough colour but not too pigmented. And you know me, I love a two-in-one product!

NUDESTIX Eye Pencil in Stardust

“A next generation eyeliner, eye shadow, and highlighting pencil in one that offers neutral tones of satin eye color.” – NUDESTIX

I am not crazy about this one. It’s basically a more solid/hard version of the Magnetic Eye Colour. The texture feels more like an eyeliner than a cream shadow which is fine, but it’s in such a light colour I would never use it as an eyeliner. Maybe in a darker colour this would be a nice pencil liner? As a shadow it’s more than nude, it’s almost invisible. It does offer a very very light wash of colour but it’s not enough for me. The swatch above required many many applications to get it to be that noticeable.

Check out my Get Ready with Me video to see how I’ve been using these three makeup pencils!

Thanks so much for watching – sorry it was a bit on the long side lol

I think I would like the eye pencil in a darker colour. It’s basically a highlighting shade so it’s not practical to use as an eyeliner. But the lip + cheek pencil is aweeesomeee!

It’s not one I normally go for (I prefer pink shades) but I do think it’s a really nice “nude but better” colour!

What a gorgeous, glowy look! I was so excited when I saw NudeStix in Sephora a couple weeks ago. Have heard such great things about the brand! Will be picking some up during the VIB sale for sure. Also, the Tarte foundation and the Balm Mary Lou give your skin such a pretty glow :)
