I decided to customize my box this month so I switched out one of the nail polishes for one that I liked better. Though now I can’t remember which one I swapped in and which one was already part of the box lol Oh well!
This months Julep theme was The Black Magic Collection! In honour of Halloween they even included a package of candy corn. I had to take photos as soon as I received my box because I knew that candy corn was not going to last. I mean, I did last…but only for about 5 minutes!
I received three nail polishes this month. Briana, Mary Lee and Oxygen Performance Top Coat.
Oxygen Performance Top Coat $18.00 ($14.40 for Mavens)
“A fast-drying, long-wearing top coat powered by breakthrough Oxygen Technology, nutrient-rich caviar extract, and scratch-resistant platinum.” – Julep
I have been a faithful lover of the Julep Polymer Top Coat for years but I wanted to try something new. This one works just as well as the Polymer one, but not any better. Not sure how caviar extract adds any benefits to this, but it’s interesting to say the least!
Briana $14.00 ($11.20 for Mavens)
Briana is a sailor blue colour with a crème finish. I find most Julep crème polishes have a semi-matte look to them, and this one was the same. I also used the Oxygen Performance Top Coat and it added a lot of shine and gloss.
I really like this colour, it’s somewhere between cobalt blue and navy blue. I’m into it!
Mary Lee $14.00 ($11.20 for Mavens)
This oxblood colour is so on trend right now. Everything from clothing to lipstick to nail polish is in this shade. This polish has a satin finish which is really cool! I left it without top coat because I really liked the look of the polish on it’s own. It has almost a leather-like finish that is really pretty!
