Say goodbye to dry skin: Nivea In-Shower Body Milk

December 8, 2014 23 Comments

Nivea is launching a new product in January that is kind of a big deal. It’s called Nivea In-Shower Body Milk ($7.99). It’s not a body wash and it’s not a lotion. The closest thing I can compare it to would be the Lush Body Conditioners. I received the Nivea In-Shower Body Milk  in the gift bag from Spark Sessions and was so excited to try it!

I have super dry skin and have to use a thick moisturizer all over my body every time I shower otherwise my skin gets itchy and tight. Even as a kid I remember my mom slathering Clinique body lotion (the only one that didn’t irritate my skin) on me every time I got out of the bath. So when I heard that Nivea had a product that was essentially a moisturizer you could apply in the shower and then rinse off I was intrigued.

So how does it work?

After cleansing your skin you rub this all over your body just like a normal moisturizer and then rinse it off. It absorbs super quickly into your skin even while wet and once you dry off with a towel your skin is hydrated and smooth but not at all greasy.

It has become a skincare favourite of mine and saves me a lot of time in the morning! The lotion is thick but becomes almost milky once you start rubbing it into your wet skin. One thing I dislike is the packaging, I think that a pump would make application a lot easier. Using a large squeeze bottle with wet hands in the shower is just asking for trouble!

Overall I still really like this product, the formula is great and it gives my skin long-lasting hydration. You can find the Nivea In-Shower Body Milk in the aisle of most major drug stores across Canada beginning January 2015.

What is your favourite winter product to relieve dry skin? Let me know in the comments!

I seriously hope I’ll be able to find this in the states too because it sounds perfect. Applying lotion after the shower is something I loathe– my dog loves licking it, so I have to lock her out of the room while I do it and it dries or else she will lick it all off! This would make this so much easier. Thanks for sharing!

You are not alone! My puppy licks my legs every time I put on body lotion lol Not anymore! They will have it at Walgreens and other Drugstores in the US come January!

Ah, I’m so lazy with moisturizing, so I love a multi-tasking product like this. Sounds perfect :)

I am fascinated with this body milk… what?! If I see this in a store, I’m definitely going to give it a shot. If it’s going to give instant moisture during this time of the year then I’ll take it <3 Thanks for sharing…

This sounds fantastic! It doesn’t sound like I suffer from dry skin as badly as you do during the winter, but I would certainly love to try this out come January!

This sounds really interesting! L’Occitane makes a similar product, but it’s expensive so I don’t always repurchase it right away. I’ll have to keep an eye out for this!

I have this one and it’s great! I do feel it leaves a film on your skin, but in winter I don’t really mind :)

It does kind of leave a film, but I find most normal moisturizers do as well. And my skin is so dry that after a few minutes it’s totally absorbed.

Ooo this sounds like an interesting product! I hope I get to try it (if it ever launches out here 😛 ) In India usually people use bath oils. You apply a light layer of a scented bath oil and then rinse out. Gives you nice and soft skin. And going out in the sun helps you tan. Given our weather I prefer to use it only in the winters though.

That’s an interesting technique, I sometimes use coconut oil mixed with lavender essential oil and that works nicely too!

I already love Nivea’s moisturizers but this product sounds AWESOME! I’ve used Ro’s Argon body conditioner from Lush and this product sounds similar. I can’t wait to get my hands on this as soon as it’s released. Thanks to you, I’ll be able to keep my eyes peeled for it! :)

I can’t wait until this is available in stores! I am so tempted by the Lush body conditioners, but they seem expensive for a product I’d probably go through super quickly. For some reason my skin never seems to absorb traditional moisturizers, they just sit on the top feeling super sticky for hours!

I know I wanted to try the Lush body conditioners too but they are really pricey!
