Buffy at 2 months old. Cuteness overload.
January is almost over and I’m kind of freaking out. I had all these great ideas on how to improve my life, my blog, my health (you get the picture) and I have done zippity zero of them. I know people say “life happens” but it’s the truth. My puppy Buffy has been suffering from eye papillomas for the last 2 months and has required a LOT more care than normal. Also I got the flu for a week and then threw out my back. So January has been super unproductive and honestly, a let down.
But in the words of singer/songwriter Taylor Swift – Shake It Off!
I’m changing things a little bit here on the blog to help keep myself on a more consistent schedule moving forward. My current way of blogging is basically just posting any time between Monday and Friday. There was no rhyme or reason as to which posts are published on which day, which may seem like a more relaxed way to approach blogging, but lemme tell you – it’s not. Especially around the holidays. I didn’t have a plan in place and all of a sudden I had all these “great” ideas but no time to execute them. This is also pointing to my severe procrastination issues.
So without further ado, here is my 2015 blogging schedule:
-
Makeup Mondays/Youtube Mondays:
Mondays I’ll be posting my product reviews, tutorials, makeup looks and all things beauty related. I am also planning on posting weekly videos on YouTube and I’m so excited to grow my channel.
-
What’s Up Wednesday:
I don’t like the term “lifestyle” because it really just means “everything that’s not beauty or fashion”. Wednesdays will be posts on life, wellness, decor, wedding inspiration and anything else that tickles my fancy that week!
-
Frenchie Fridays/Fashion Fridays:
I love my little French Bulldog and I think you might too! I’ll be sharing fashion related posts on Fridays along with some good old fashioned puppy loving! I’ll also briefly talk about why I feed him the treats I bring for him from https://kitchenhome.co.uk/best-wet-dog-food/. They might be two different posts. They might be a Frenchie/fashion fusion. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT!
I’m not saying I won’t also post on Tuesday and Thursday, I very well may. Especially around holidays like Valentine’s Day I’ll be posting more beauty related stuff all through the week. But these set “themes” are a way to help keep myself organized and have some structure to my blogging schedule. Ya dig?
Let me know what you think and if there are other topics you think I should dedicate a day of the week to! If you are a blogger do you have a set schedule? How do you stay organized?
Natalie Heather says
Yes! I love the new plan! I fully support more Buffy and Fashion 🙂

Yay thanks Natalie! Here’s to 2015! *sound of champagne popping*

I love it! Life does happen but it’s hood to now have a plan going forward:) love the names and can’t wait to tune each week. Stay at home mom has yo have something besides kids shows 😉
Megan Joy says
Haha I bet you are totally up to date on the latest kids shows : ) I hope you enjoy what I’m going to be posting!
I really hope having a little more structure will make blogging more fun again and less stressful. Fingers crossed!
Zoe says
I think sometimes organization can be really helpful with cutting down on the stress so I hope your new schedule helps. also puppy fashion fusion sounds PERFECT. I hope buffy gets better!
Megan Joy says
Thanks Zoe! It’s been 2 months of back and forth and no answers. But we found out today that it’s 100% the papillomas so we can hopefully get them removed in the next few weeks and she’ll be back to normal : ) And yes, a little planning goes a LONG way in reducing stress that’s for sure!
Chelle says
Planning and scheduling has always worked for me, so I hope it works for you as well!
And btw, saying “don’t google it” was about the worst thing you could say. Because then I HAD to google it. I’m now scarred for life. And that’s HORRIBLE that Buffy is suffering through those. Jeez… 🙁
Zoe says
ME TOO. It’s awful , poor Buffy 🙁
Megan Joy says
Oh no! Maybe I’ll take that part out. It’s pretty nasty and I feel so bad that she has them right on her eyeball. It’s so painful!
Ling says
YESSSSS MORE BUFFY. I freakin’ can’t handle how cute your dog is 😀
Ling says
That awkward moment when you mix up Frenchie and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference… 😛
Megan Joy says
Haha I am biased but I think she’s pretty cute too 🙂 I hope you enjoy the “Buffy” related posts!

OMGG we have a very similar schedule in place! I haven’t made any official plans but I’m also thinking some sort of Make-up Mondays (instead of my #wumumons, a more official makeup day) then a Wake-up Wednesday (vlog/blog?) and a Fashion Friday! Though mine wont be nearly as consistent. The whole alliteration thing is catchy and makes it pretty easy to plan out ^_^
Good luck! I’m excited to follow along 😀
Megan Joy says
I like your makeup videos on Mondays. They are so chill and relaxed! I’m looking forward to follow along on yours as well : ) xo
MizzJ says
Those sound like good ideas to grow your blog and keep your sanity! It does get tiring and a little organization goes a long way.
Megan Joy says
Totally! I am definitely the kind of person who creates posts on a whim whenever the inspiration hits, so I need to channel that into something a bit more organized lol
Jackie says
Life really does happen. I struggle with this too. I have these great intentions, and then I don’t execute many of them (and this goes beyond my blog).
I’m sorry to hear about your pup…but I must say, I would have no aversion to seeing that face on Fridays 🙂

Something About That
Megan Joy says
Haha good to know, more Buffy coming right up : ) I know myself and the only way I get things done is by writing them down or having lists. Lists are my saviour lol
Nadia @ The View Is Beautiful says
I made myself a blog planner and it made blogging in January run SO much smoother because I had already written down what I needed to accomplish on the weekends! Sometimes no amount of planning can make everything happen at once, but it definitely helps from feeling overwhelmed! Looking forward to seeing your face more in my subscription box 🙂
Megan Joy says
The feeling is mutual Nadia : ) Writing things down helps so much, it makes it so much easier to remind myself and stay motivated. Yay for goal! #2015
