I’m excited to share my review and tutorial of the Garnier Color Styler with you today! This temporary hair colour works like hair chalk in a liquid form which means less transfer and highly pigmented colour. I love changing up my hair so low-commitment products like this are totally up my alley. I have used the pink shade in this collection before and loved it. I was feeling a little blue yesterday (OH THE PUNS) so I decided to try out this shade too!
If you want to see how I got this dip-dyed style check out my YouTube video below for step-by-step instructions.
Here are a few additional photos of my hair after applying the colour and styling it as I normally would!
Things I loved
- Vibrant colour
- Easy application
- Affordable
- Lasts 1-2 weeks on chemically treated hair (less if you have natural hair)
Things to note:
- When brushing my hair after initial application the dye flaked off all over my shirt (it’s a chalk base so this makes sense). Just be aware!
- Leaves your hair with a slightly stiff texture, similar to hairspray
- If you want to dye to come out faster just massage some hair oil into the colour and it will wash out much quicker! Argan oil or any hair oil you have will work : )
*You can find Garnier Color Styler ($6.96 CAD) at Walmart.ca and your local Drugstore locations.

Megan I loveee this. The blue looks amazing. I’d totally be interested in trying this, but my hair is so dark. Not sure how pigmented it would be. 🙁

You should check out the YouTube tutorial Jessice from Beautezine did, she has brown hair!

I can’t get over how vibrant it is in your hair! You can pull that off SO well. 🙂
Megan Joy says
Thanks Nancy! My husband came home and was like :O LOL It’s very bright but I’ve washed it once and it’s already much lighter, almost like a pastel blue.

Omgsh I’m in love!! It looks great on you and you are so natural on camera 🙂 This makes me want to use the red one I have yet to touch since Spark Sessions :p. How weird do you think it would look on ombre hair? haha.
Megan Joy says
I think it would look awesome on ombre! I saw a YouTube tutorial from Beautezine where she applied it on her brown hair and it looks really pretty : )
