Last week I talked about my introduction to Hello Products (thanks Nancy!) and their San Francisco event. It’s not surprising that the person who created Hello Products also had a hand in the making of EOS lipgloss and Method Cleaning Products. This brand has the same emphasis on natural, healthy items that really work! Not to mention the sleek, simplistic packaging that’s functional and pretty to look at.
At the event they kindly gave me a full size Hello Pink Grapefruit Mint Breath Spray ($3.75 US) and Hello Pink Grapefruit Mint Fluoride Toothpaste ($4.49 US). Given the choice of a few different flavours I clearly went for the ones with pink packaging. HAVE YOU MET ME? All pink all the time!
In their own words this is how Hello Products describes their toothpaste:
“Say hello to naturally friendly Pink Grapefruit Mint fluoride toothpaste! Highly effective, highly naturally, and totally delicious. Our fresh + friendly formula has the ADA Seal of Approval and prevents cavities, strengthens enamel, polishes teeth, and freshens breath. hello toothpaste is free of triclosan, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and dyes — plus we’re vegan, never tested on animals (Leaping Bunny certified)” – Hello Products
It’s quite runny and doesn’t foam up like traditional toothpastes but I’ve experienced this with other natural toothpastes before. So, does it work?
I can honestly say that my teeth and mouth feel cleaner after using this than any other toothpaste I’ve tried. It doesn’t burn my mouth with that harsh minty flavour but it still leaves my mouth feeling cool and fresh.
The taste is a little weird at first. I don’t normally have fruity flavoured toothpaste so the grapefruit was a little strange to get used to. But after a few times using it I started to really like the flavour. It’s citrusy and minty all at the same time!
This tiny little bullet looking thingie is their breath freshener and it’s in the same fruity mint flavour. This isn’t going to give you long-lasting freshness but it will give your breath a little boost of minty goodness.
It can get a little messy so the key is to bring it really close to your mouth before spraying, otherwise you’ll get it all around your mouth. I carry this with me in my purse all the time now!
Is it just me or do they look super cute on my counter? They really nailed it on the packaging and thankfully what’s inside is pretty great too. One thing to note is that Hello Products are a bit more expensive than the average oral care, but around the same price point as other natural brands like Tom’s and Kiss My Face. It comes as no surprise that healthier options tend to cost more but in my opinion it’s definitely worth the few extra bucks!
Have you tried anything from Hello Products? Let me know in the comments!
*You can find Hello. products at your local Target and Walgreens (US) and at Loblaw’s and Rexal locations (Canada)
