At night is when I take a few extra minutes to pamper my skin. I actually really enjoy the 10 to 15 minutes that I spend on my skin in the evening. If I have a full face of makeup on I look forward to removing it all and letting my skin breathe.
Lately, I’ve been starting out with the Simple Skincare Cleansing Micellar Water. It’s a cleansing solution that removes your makeup without using any water. I pour it onto a cotton pad and gently wipe my face with it until all traces of makeup are gone. There’s something super satisfying about looking at a brown and black cotton pad and knowing you’ve removed every last stitch of your makeup. It’s kind of gross but also really gratifying!
I use my Clarisonic once a day because if I use it twice a day my skin gets irritated. I like the The Body Shop Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser which is a cream cleanser for sensitive skin. I splash some water on my face and then apply a quarter size amount of the cleanser all over my face. If there is any amount of makeup still on my skin the Clarisonic will pick it up and gently exfoliate my skin at the same time.
I follow up with the Avon Anew Clinical Pro+ Line Erasure Treatment (available May 2015). I treat it like a serum that I apply before my moisturizer. Over the last month it has really improved my skin tone and made my skin feel a lot smoother and more supple. I don’t know that any cream can really “erase your lines” but my skin does have a much nicer texture overall. It doesn’t have any scent and feels so velvety when I apply it!
I finish off by adding a few drops of the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster to my Lush Celestial Moisturizer. This helps give my skin a hint of sunkissed glow while leaving it deeply hydrated. I dab on a little It’s Potent Eye Cream from Benefit Cosmetics and I’m done!
It definitely not a fast routine but it balances out because in the morning I apply moisturizer and SPF and that’s it for my skincare. I only cleanse my skin at night because it’s already quite dry and sensitive and over cleansing can cause my skin to react and break out in hives. No thanks!
What’s your favourite skincare product to use in the evening? I’m on the market for a new night cream so holla at me!

I’m with you – even though it takes a good chunk of time I really look forward to doing my nighttime skincare routine! I used to be a makeup wipe lover, but now I almost exclusively use cleansing waters to remove my makeup. It’s less waste since I only use one cotton pad for my whole face AND it just feels better! Marcelle’s is my fav. I can’t wait until the rest of my body is dark enough that I need to start using my Clarins Radiance booster – I fell in love with that last summer!

I want to try the other self-tanners from Clarins since the Glow Booster works so well for me, my body needs some colour! I love the Marcelle Cleansing Water too, I think the one from Simple Skincare is very comparable (price wise and quality wise).

I have the simple toner and haven’t tried anything else in their line, but the micellar water sounds great! I’ll keep an eye out at the drugstore! My favourite nighttime skincare is the ole henrkisen truth serum, it makes my skin feel so smooth every time I wake up!

You’ve got a great nighttime skincare routine! I’m always super lazy about my makeup at night which is the worst so I’m trying to make sure that when I come home, I take care of changing and getting out of my “day-time” getup so that I can just relax and not worry about it later when I’m lazy!

Haha I do something similar! I take off all my makeup long before bed time because then I’m not as rush and lazy. If I know I’m not going out again I’ll take off all my makeup after dinner : ) Then I can just enjoy the evening and hop into bed without having to do anything!

Ooh, that Avon serum sounds promising! Will definitely check it out. And I’ve been curious about Lush Celestial

I’ve repurchased Celestial about 4 times now. It’s very moisturizing, I haven’t found anything I like better!
