Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows

When a beauty blogger finds a new cosmetics brand it’s a very special thing. It’s extra special when that brand has fun, colourful and great quality makeup that’s only $5. Hello ColourPop! Though I’ve been hearing some stories that they charge an arm and a leg for shipping to Canada (shame on you Colourpop!), I still think it’s worth checking out.

Last week I posted my review of the lipsticks from my ColourPop haul! Today I’m swatching the two eyeshadows that I picked up and boy oh boy are they pretty. I purchased In a Pickle ($5 US) which is a pastel coral pink in a matte finish and Girly ($5 US) a creamy vanilla, a flash of pink and gold with a duo chrome finish.

As you can see I swatched them before I took the photos so you didn’t get to see the cute little circle pattern they have on them. But fear not, I’ve already placed another order and will restrain from testing them until after I’ve taken photos : ) Also I feel like In a Pickle should be a green shade, the name doesn’t really fit the colour! What do you think?

They are both nicely pigmented and the texture is like a bouncy mousse that applies like a powder. They are super velvety and I didn’t notice much fallout which is always a plus. They suggest applying with your fingertips first to get the best colour payoff and then blend with a brush to soften.

Here’s my makeup look using these two shades:
