Mother’s Day is just around the corner! If you are anything like me it’s a tough task to find the perfect gift for your mom. My mom is the kind of person who loves to take care of other people and rarely takes time for herself. I find the best gifts for her are the ones that force her to take a few moments each day and pamper herself. It could be as luxurious as an at-home spa night or as simple as a delicious cup of tea at the end of a long day.
I was lucky enough to get this lovely package in the mail as well as one for my Mom from Multivitamin Media and Ours by Cheryl Hickey! I gave it to my Mom a little early since she came to visit last weekend and she was over the moon with these natural (and all Canadian) gifts. Maybe you’ll find some inspiration for what to get your Mom this weekend!
Ours by Cheryl Hickey
These products are the brain child of Cheryl Hickey, Canadian television host and mom of two. Think of OURS as The Honest Company, just Canadian (and therefore better am I right?) I would use up way too much room telling you all of the harmful ingredients that aren’t in these products but if you want to see the list you can click here : )
3-in-1 Hydrating Oil ($14.99 CAD)
This fast obsorbing oil is good for everything! You name it – hair, cuticles, face, body and more. My interest was peaked when I saw this this included lavender oil as my mom has recently started using essential oils for her skin and for wellness purposes too. I know she will love this hydrating oil because it’s infused with essential oils but it’s also very lightly scented so it won’t give her headaches (or bother those with fragrance sensitivities).
Face & Body Exfoliator ($11.99 CAD)
This is not your average exfoliator! You can use this to buff away dry skin on your face, the man in your life can use it to prep for shaving and even kids can use it. Cheryl Hickey said she used it to on her son’s stained hands after he was playing with food colouring! Being that this whole lineup is all about being natural you won’t find any microbeads up in here. Jojoba beads do all the scrubbing! Shea and cocoa butter are thrown in to moisturize along with soothing cucumber & aloe vera.
EveryBody Lotion ($11.99 CAD)
This lotion contains coconut, olive oil, cucumber extract and aloe vera. Basically all of the good ingredients to soothe and hydrate skin without causing irritation. If your Mom has sensitive skin this will be perfect for her, and if you are giving this to a new mom it’s gentle enough to be used on baby too!
*Ours by Cheryl Hickey is available exclusively through Rexall
MaskerAide Face Mask
These sheet masks will have both you and your Mom looking like a straight up crazy person but giiiiiiirl it’s worth it. I have used MaskerAide masks for a few years now and they always leave my skin feeling great.
*MaskerAide products can be found online and at the Fairmont Hotel
Wash Beauty Konjac Sponge
I was so excited when I peeked into the box and saw there was a konjac sponge! Wash Beauty is the new sister company of MaskerAide and is focused on simple and eco-friendly skincare. They just launched in March so right now their products are only available online but soon they’ll start popping up in retail locations across Canada.
Konjac sponges are made from root vegetables so they are gentle enough to be used on the whole family (babies included) and are biodegradable as well. So when you are done with it (usually 1-2 months) you can just toss it in the organics bin! You can use it on it’s own to cleanse your face (just add water) or you can add some of your favourite face wash to up the cleansing power.
*Wash Beauty products can be found online and will be available in retail location soon
Lemon Lily Organic Tea (Canadian Maple)
This super yummy tea couldn’t be more Canadian! And at $7.50 for a 50g bag it’s similar to what you would find at David’s Tea (another favourite of mine). This tea contains only 3 ingredients: Fair Trade Red Rooibos, Canadian Maple and Brown Sugar. All 3 are certified organic!
*Lemon Lily Organic Tea can be found at their retail store (410 Dundas Street East, Toronto) or online
I hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. Whether you are celebrating your mother or you are a mother yourself, I hope it’s filled with family and lots of love!
What do you love most about your mother? Let me know in the comments!

That tea sounds sooo delicious, I don’t think I’ve tried lily in a tea before! I’ve heard really good things about the maskeraide mask too! I love how my mom’s always right even when I thought she was wrong at start 😛

I thought the tea had lily in it too at first but it turns out that’s just the company name (Lemon Lily Organic Tea). The flavour of the tea was Canadian Maple. Someone should make a Lemon Lily tea though, it would probably be delicious! : )
