It’s finally that time of year when the weather is warm and the sun is shining (most days anyway!) While I’m a superfan of layering it’s nice to be able to throw on a dress and have your whole outfit complete. I need some lessons in accessorizing (anyone?) so I usually don’t wear much in the way of jewelry but with the right dress you don’t always need to add bling.
I picked up this casual cotton dress from Bench at the Eaton’s Center. I was invited by Bench to come in and pick out a few pieces that I felt would fit my personal style. When I think of Bench I usually think of those jackets with BENCH printed along the collar. I’m happy to say that after perusing the store they have a lot more to offer than just spring jackets.
This is the Bench Cutabout Dress ($79.99 – now on sale for $41.99) and it’s the perfect lazy day dress. It’s light enough for even the hottest summer days but it’s also super comfortable (my #1 criteria when choosing clothing)

While I think $80 is a bit much for this dress I think it’s well constructed and has a lot of cute details that make it more visually interesting. I love the tulip style skirt! It also has a racer-back built in while the second layer of the top hangs loose.
Because you can fold the top over the skirt it sort of looks like it could be two separate pieces. I have been wearing this dress a ton lately, especially on hot days when I just want something light and breathable!
You guys, she loves me. A lot.

OMG Buffy loves you so much! I love the photo of her running by. This dress does look really lovely and comfy and great for summer, but as with everyone it seems, the price is a bit on the high side. That’s a super discount which makes it way more appealing!

That’s such a good idea. I imagine they probably fold up really small, so convenient for on the go. I wish I had one when we had all that rain a few weeks ago :/
