I recently picked up a casual flared dress from H&M and I’m loving it. I have been known to wear it more than once a week! *gasp* I’m sure I’m breaking some kind of fashion rule there but when I find something I like I like to wear over and over! It’s kind of like wearing a tent. A really cute and social appropriate tent. For the record, my rule for picking out clothes is “does it resemble a muumuu? Yes? I’LL TAKE 5!”
I bought this dress about 3 weeks ago so I bet it’s still available. I couldn’t find it on H&M website but they don’t show everything on there, in fact the selection is limited compared to what you can find in store.
So I wanted to show you 3 different ways to style this dress that take if from casual to dressy!
Look #1: Keepin’ it casual
This literally couldn’t be more comfortable. You do run the risk of looking slightly larger than you are because of how flared and flowy the dress is but I don’t really care. I am pretty bad at accessorizing but I like to throw a long necklace over this dress. You can really tell but there are tiny mint squares on this dress so the turquoise necklace works. This look is perfect for a picnic or any time you just want to be super comfortable.
If you don’t know about Mala beads you might want to check out Tiny Devotions and learn more about them! This necklace is more than just an accessory, it’s meant to be part of the “intention” that you set each day. Each stone has different properties and this one is meant to alleviate fear and anxiety. As someone who struggles with anxiety when I wear this necklace I hold the stone in my hand any time I feel like I’m getting overwhelmed. I know I know – I can just see your eyes rolling! But it just reminds me to stop and take a moment to relax when I feel stressed.

Look #2: Add Some Edge
I wanted to add a little structure to the dress by adding the faux leather jacket but still keep it summery with these sparkly sandals. The jacket is fitted so when it’s zipped up it adds some definition to my waist. I like cuffing the sleeves of this jacket because I have short arms and jackets sleeves are always way too long!
In the winter I would add black leggings and booties to make this dress work well into the winter months.

Look #3: Dress It Up
This is my favourite way to wear this dress. I added a skinny belt to cinch in the waist and this super lightweight blazer. The blazer goes up in the back so it’s slightly cropped and I love the zipper detailing.
