Stop, swatchy time! theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipsticks launched last month and everyone has been scrambling to get their hands on them! theBalm is always on trend when it comes to makeup so with the recent influx of long-lasting matte lipsticks on the market it’s no surprise theBalm has created a collection of 8 gorgeous shades.
These liquid lipsticks have a lovely vanilla-mint scent that I love. They have a classic doe foot applicator which is perfect for a creamy product like this. After swatching each of these shades, here’s my first impression of this new collection.

These colours don’t mess around. You are going to get vibrant, bold and long-lasting colour. After swatching these on my arms they stained my skin for a full day! On my lips they didn’t stick around quite as long but I got an impressive 4-5 hours of wear before they started to fade. Even after eating!
As with most liquid lipstick the darker shades can be a little patchy (I’m looking at you Adoring), but you just need to use a little extra care while applying them and you can still get gorgeous results. This collection of shades is really wearable compared to other brands like Anastasia Beverley Hills and Kat Von D. You won’t find any black, green or blue lip colours here (not that there’s anything wrong with those shades!) If you’re looking for something more neutral and wearable then theBalm has you covered.

the colors look pretty good. i dont remember the last time i used a liquid lipstick though. they tend to be a litte more fussy i think.

They definitely take more time that’s for sure! I don’t wear them unless I have a few extra minutes. The lighter shades are easier to work with the but the darker shades need some patience and a stead hand : )
