A few weeks ago H&M Canada launched their beauty line at the Toronto Eaton Centre location. I had the chance to attend a media event that had me swatching every blush, eyeshadow and lipgloss I could get my hands on! I picked up a few items that really stood out to me and in true Megan-fashion I had to review them right away.
So what did I get from the new H&M Beauty collection?
- H&M Pure Lustre Gloss in Fushcia Fusion ($7.99 CAD)
- H&M Transparent Makeup Bag in Pink ($12.99 CAD)
- H&M Cover-Up Concealer in Soft Sand ($6.99 CAD)
- H&M Nail Polish in Volcanic Mud ($6.99 CAD)
It’s nothing new that I love pink and purple lip products. So it’s no surprise I gravitated towards this lipgloss in Fuchsia Fusion. It smells like vanilla frosting and the formula reminds me of the Stila Lip Glaze, glossy and long-lasting. It looks crazy bright in the tube but it’s actually quite sheer when you apply it. It has a flat applicator (not a slanted doe foot one) which I don’t like but otherwise this is a solid gloss for a decent price ($7.99).
The Cover-Up Concealer was a bit of a gamble because the testers were all switched around so I wasn’t 100% sure I got the right shade. I think the one I got was a little darker than I would normally go for but it still works on me. It’s a very creamy texture that will leave a bit of shine on your skin so you may want to set it with powder. The texture reminds me of the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye, but this concealer quite a bit thinner. It did an ok job at covering up my dark circles and blemishes but it’s not what I would consider full coverage.
In the photo above I am wearing the lipgloss and the concealer under my eyes and on a few blemishes on my cheeks and forehead. The quality is comparable to similarly priced drugstore brands like CoverGirl and L’Oreal.
The nail polish selection was insane. I didn’t count but they must have had over 20 shades to choose from. Since fall is here I decided to try out this gorgeous grey nail polish called Volcanic Mud. I couldn’t find any information on whether or not this polish is 4-free but I’ll update if I’m able to find out.
This is after 2 coats. It’s a really pretty glossy finish and gets fairly opaque coverage with 2 coats. As you can see on my thumb some spots are still a little translucent but if you have time and patience for 3 coats of polish you will be totally set!
Overall I think H&M did a great job on all the packaging of these products. I did expect H&M beauty products to be a bit more affordable but I do think the quality of what I’ve tried so far is really nice. If you happen to be in the Toronto area be sure to stop by the Beauty Department at the H&M in the Eaton Centre!
Would you try skincare or makeup from H&M? Let me know in the comments!

I’m glad I tried a few different things from their beauty line. I heard the eyeshadow palettes aren’t super pigmented but the single shadows are better. I can’t wait to try out more : )

That grey polish looks like a lighter (and more inexpensive!) version of Dior’s green polish they came out for Fall 2015!!

Totally, it’s a great autumn shade! I always go for greys, dark reds and greens in the fall : ) I wonder if they have all the beauty stuff in California? I hope so!

They seem to have some really pretty shades of nail polish!

They really do. I had a hard time deciding on just one colour to try : )

I’m quite impressed with their makeup so far! I’ve tried a little bit of everything it and as you said, it’s pretty comparable to CG and L’Oreal. I also love that gloss on you!

Everything I see about the H&M nail polishes makes me think I’m going to go ham once they make it to my H&M.

I am really excited about these beauty products. The mall by me has just opened a new H&M store, I hope they will have the beauty line as well! All the pieces you picked look really nice. I love the lipstick in particular and it looks beautiful on you.

Unfortunately I can’t pull off colours like Volcanic Mud with my skin tone, but it looks really lovely on you!
