Bump Day: 27 Weeks

December 30, 2015 13 Comments

bump-week-27

I’m 27 weeks and feeling tired but so excited to meet this little lady in just 13 weeks. That is, unless she decides to make an early appearance. But if she’s anything like her mother she will show up fashionably late : )

I bounce back and forth between feeling totally awesome and empowered by my body and feeling straight up terrible. I’m just being honest here. I love watching my belly grow and knowing there’s a little life inside of me getting stronger every day. But some days I just feel so unattractive and like I don’t even recognize my body. Did you ever feel that way when you were pregnant?

It’s ok to feel like that sometimes because we all have moments where we don’t feel our best. We are human after all! At the end of the day the baby gives me a good kick in the bladder and just laugh because I know that no matter what it’s totally worth it!

What I wore:

  • Jeans: Thyme Maternity Skinny Jeans (similar)

What’s Happening At 27 Weeks:

  • Baby is about the size of a papaya (still) and weighs about two pounds
  • This is the last week of the second trimester. I can’t believe the third trimester is just around the corner
  • Her eyelids have begun to open and close as she practices blinking!
  • I’ve started experiencing Braxton Hicks which are definitely not fun but they are (unfortunately) totally normal during pregnancy

I hope you all have an amazing New Year Eve! See you “next year” : )

Most days I feel great, but there are definitely moments where I feel huge and weird and insecure. I guess we all have times like that! Happy new years eve Tracy : )

I 100% felt like this. There were some days when I was like ‘Wow, I’m really hot!’ Then there were other days when I felt like a potatoe in a sac.

You just have to accept your body as is and know that you will get back to normal soon. Enjoy what you can while you can!

Great advice Jameela! I am really enjoying watching my body change, but I still have the occasional day when I feel crappy too. Overall being pregnant has been a wonderful experience though and I can’t wait to meet my little girl! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! xo

I know, I feel the same! The second trimester flew by, probably because there has been so much going on (the move, new apartment) and time in general is just flying! I hope you had a great holidays too, happy new year! : )

I can’t believe you’ll have a little girl soon! I cannot even imagine having something live growing inside me. You look amazing in all of your posts and I’m sure even on those days you’re not feeling quite so hot. Happy New Year Megan and family!

Thanks so much Jayne! It’s been fun documenting things and I think I’ll enjoy looking back on these posts once the baby is here. I already can’t believe how tiny I was just a few months ago : ) Growing a human is SO WEIRD but so fun at the same time lol

Thanks Chelle! I have more good days than bad but I feel like no one talks about how crappy you feel sometimes when your pregnant. It’s ok to feel weird about your body changing, even if it is pretty amazing at the same time : )

You look radiant and that’s neat how you know she’s blinking!

I love reading about your pregnancy! It brings back wonderful memories too, I loved being pregnant! It was only at the very end that I felt like “come out already”, lol! I had gained about 40 lbs and my tummy was huge! I even had a few people ask me if I was having twins… :-/
