It’s day 2 of my 7 Days of Lush series and today we have another holiday treat. This little guy is still available on the Lush website and it’s even on promotion (buy one get one free!) It’s Lush Butterbear!
Butterbear Bath Bomb (US, Canada)
This bomb doesn’t have any surprise colours inside so it’s perfect for someone who doesn’t need their bath to look like a rainbow. It contains cocoa butter flecks that melt into the bath and leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated. In the video I posted below you can see what look like bits of oatmeal or something fizzing in the tub but I’m pretty sure those are the pieces of cocoa butter.
Along with the Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter it also contains Ylang Ylang which gives it a sweet vanilla aroma. In fact it’s the same vanilla scent as the Butterball Bath Bomb which is available year round. And this little bears’ button nose? It’s made of coloured cocoa powder!
Want to see how to use Butterbear? Check out my YouTube demo below.
What I like:
- The sweet vanilla scent – yum!
- It is the most hydrating bath bomb I’ve ever used. I was even able to skin applying lotion!
- No glitter means no rinsing the tub after your done
What I don’t like:
- Because it melts clear it’s not the most fun to watch fizz, but this might actually be a plus for someone who doesn’t like colourful bath bombs
Be sure to check back tomorrow to see which LUSH bath product I’ll be featuring next! See you on Day 3!
* This post contains products that were sent to me for consideration. As always, my reviews and opinions are my own.

I don’t really know what Ylang Ylang smells like, but I love the scent of this bath bomb! : )

Cute! I love LUSH. Curious about this because I love ylang ylang but yy isn’t a vanilla scent, if anything it’s closer to sandalwood.
Megan Joy says
That’s a great question! My guess is that they add vanilla fragrance to it. Maybe the cocoa butter gives it a sweeter scent as well?

As much as I think the colorful and glittery bath bombs are pretty, I don’t think the cleanup afterwards would be very fun! I saw a video of the Dragon Egg’s bath bomb in action and the girl said after her relaxing bath she had to spend the next hour cleaning her tub. No thank you! This one looks like it gives an easy bath experience without the cleanup. I’m not a fan of the smell of ylang ylang, so I’m glad this mostly smells like vanilla. Thanks for the demonstration!

Awww what a cute little bath bomb! I actually really like the fact that it doesn’t leave any marks in the tub!
Megan Joy says
I feel like that’s a selling feature for a lot of people. No cleanup needed!
