Bump Day: 29 Weeks

January 15, 2016 10 Comments

17 weeks vs 29 weeks baby bump

A lot can change in 12 weeks! It’s funny to look at that 17 week photo. I perfectly remember how big I thought I was back then. But I feel like that’s how everything feels during pregnancy. Each little change feels so monumental but then you can look back just a few weeks and see how much more has happened!

I’m in the third trimester now and had to take the glucose test which tells you if you’ve developed gestational diabetes (it’s not uncommon for women to developed this during pregnancy). My original 1-hour test came back “inconclusive” so I had to do a 3-hour test just to be sure. Needles. So many needles. Well…4. But for me that’s a lot! I am a huge baby when it comes to getting blood work done! I am happy to say I got the call today and I do NOT have GD which is great news.

What’s Happening At 29 Weeks:

  • Baby is about the weight of a winter squash (approx 2.5 pounds)
  • I felt her have the hiccups for the first time this week
  • Baby has made it known she doesn’t like it when I sleep on my right side. So now I’m exclusively a left side sleeper now!
  • If born this week she would have a 95% change of survival. Though hopefully she stays cooking in there for at least another 11 weeks : )

Happy Friday everyone! Have a wonderful weekend!

Aww such a cute baby bump! And great to know you don’t have GD! I remember having to drink that sweet orange liquid and people made it sound SO MUCH WORSE than what it actually was. I didn’t mind it at all.

I didn’t mind it that much either. It was just like flat pop basically!

these posts are so great and you look adorable with your bump! it’s amazing to compare especially since you have the same shirt on. then in another few weeks it will seem impossible you were this tiny! i feel like it would be so strange to have your body constantly stretching like that with another human inside of it haha maybe someday i will find out!
