7 Days of Lush: Day 6 – Bar Humbug Bubble Bar

It’s day 6 of the “7 Days of Lush” series! Today we are taking a break from bath bombs and talking about a Bubble Bar that’s sure to please. Even Scrooge himself couldn’t deny how fun it is!

Bar Humbug Bubble Bar (US, Canada)

This bubble bar is a holiday exclusive so you’ll have to wait until next Christmas to get your hands on this one. Luckily Lush has a whole lineup of permanent Bubble Bars to enjoy!

So how does it work? Simply crumble the bar under running water and watch the bubbles rise. You can easily cut this in half and get two baths out of it but I really wanted maximum bubble levels so I used the whole thing!

I’m in bubble bath heaven!

It contains Bergamot, Fennel and Tarragon oil along with Organic ilipe butter. With Fennel being fairly high on the ingredient list I was surprised that it didn’t smell much like licorice at all. I found it smelled more spicy and citrusy, but overall the scent was very light and pleasant. It turned the water a beautiful purple/pink and it created a ton of bubbles!

Though you see glitter around the outside of the Bubble Bar there isn’t any glitter visible in the water. At least not any that I could see!

As I mentioned, Bar Humbug is out of stock until next Christmas but if you enjoy earthy and spicy aromas you can try Lord Of Misrule Shower Cream which is patchouli scented.

15 minutes later and the bubbles are still going strong!

What I like:

• Not much shimmer so there was no need to rinse the tub afterward
• The scent is light and citrusy which I enjoyed
• The bubbles lasted the whole length of my bath (about 25 mins)

What I don’t like:

• For a product that’s marketing as “licorice scented” it didn’t smell like licorice at all to me
• Not very hydrating
