Leave it to me to make a Barbie pink iced tea latte, am I right? Let’s just admit that half the appeal of this iced tea latte is the cute bubblegum colour. The other half is the delicious nutty and apple flavour of this tea! Forever Nuts (Canada, US) from David’s Tea has been a favourite of mine for years and now that I’m pregnant I am enjoying this caffeine free tea on the regular.
So what’s in it? Apple, almonds, cinnamon, beetroot and artificial flavouring are combined to make this scrumptious tea somehow taste like apple crumble. In fact, the beets are what give it this tea it’s signature pink colour. Hot or cold this drink is super yummy but I have been making a lot more iced tea lately so I wanted to show you how I like the make mine at home.
Step 1: Picky Picky
Pick which tea you want to use. If you want your tea to come out a pretty rosy pink colour I would definitely suggest Forever Nuts. If you know of any other teas that give you the same pink colour let me know in the comments.
Use two tea bags when making iced tea to balance out the ice you’ll add later. I am almost out of Forever Nuts so I am conserving my stash and only using one tea bag today!
Step 2: Steep Steep Steep
Just follow the instructions for the tea you are using. Forever Nuts suggests steeping for 4-7 minutes so I let it steep for the full 7. I usually do the maximum time because I prefer my tea quite strong.
This is the time to add any sweetener if you’d like. Because this one already has some artificial flavouring I don’t usually add extra sugar but sometimes I’ll throw a little agave in there. LIVING ON THE EDGE PEOPLE!
Step 3: Ice Ice Baby
I like to add enough ice that it (at least) doubles the volume of the tea. For this mug I used about 6 regular sized ice cubes.
4. Milk It
Add a splash of whatever milk you prefer. I drink almond milk and it works perfectly as almonds are one of the main ingredients in this tea!
5. Stir Things Up
Use your straw or a spoon to mix everything together. If you added sugar it can sometimes settle to the bottom of the mug so make sure to stir it long enough to mix the sugar in thoroughly.
Voila! You’re left with an iced tea latte that any princess would be happy to sip! And by princess I mean 30 year olds who simply love anything pink 🙂 This could even be a fun drink to make with your kids as it has no caffeine.
What’s your favourite kind of tea? Do you prefer hot or iced tea? Let me know in the comments!

Love the colour of this tea! Sounds amazing as well!
I don’t drink tea often but my favourite is mint tea made in the Middle East! It’s basically black tea, lots of sugar and fresh mint leaves!

That tea sounds like a really interesting (and tasty) combination! I used to really dislike black tea but since I became pregnant I’ve been craving it like crazy. Good thing there are decaf black teas available 🙂
