I posted a snapchat a few months back of my skin after a rosacea flare-up. For me, it comes in the form of raised, red hives that are itchy and super uncomfortable. Maria from BestDayBlogger replied to my Snapchat and put me in touch with the people at Odylique. She knew that they specialized in products for sensitive and rosacea prone skin and she thought some of their products might help. Seriously guys, Maria is so sweet. Go check out her YouTube channel if you haven’t already!
Odylique Organic Skincare is based out of Suffolk, England and it keeps popping up on blogs everywhere as people’s favourite new skincare line. I’m always skeptical of brands that claim to treat or minimize rosacea because so far I haven’t found anything that does much of anything once a breakout starts.
After speaking to someone at Odylique they recommended a 3-step skincare routine. Cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Pretty simple right? Because of the calming and rebalancing properties of rose all three of the products contain rose as a main ingredient.
Creamy Coconut Cleanser ($35 US)
This gentle cream cleanser is detergent-free and vegan. It’s a cleanser but you can use it as a makeup remover as well.
When using this I splashed water on my face and then rubbed the cleanser in for a minute or so (even on my eyes – thankfully no burning!) To remove I followed the directions and used damp cotton pads. This worked really well to remove my makeup though I found I needed too many (3 or 4) cotton pads to get the job done. Eventually switched to a damp cloth to remove the bulk of it and then one cotton pad just to make sure there wasn’t any dirt left behind. It did a decent job at removing waterproof as well.
My skin felt soft and clean afterward without being tight. I don’t normally wash my face in the morning but this cleanser was so gently I ended up using it morning and night.
Key ingredients include rose to calm and sooth, lemon to detoxify, and coconut & extra virgin olive to hydrate the skin.
Calming Rose Super Tonic ($29 US)
This tonic (or toner as it’s more commonly known) smells absolutely amazing. It’s like breathing in a bouquet of roses! Ok, it’s not that strong but it’s a lovely scent and I can’t get enough of it!
I went through this so fast because I used it as a toner and a “skin refresher” throughout the day. I work from home, so if I was going makeup free and decided to head out I would just spritz my face with this and it would absorb excess oil and leave my skin feeling dewy and hydrated. As a toner I would spray some on a cotton pad to ensure I got every last bit of oil and makeup off of my skin.
Key ingredients include rose essential oil to calm, and rose flower water to sooth and tone.
Timeless Rose Moisturizer (48.00 US)
This is one of their best selling products and I can tell why! This was a perfect daily moisturizer for my skin. It was hydrating enough to leave my skin feeling dewy but also absorbed quickly without leaving any residue. Because it contains (organic) rose it’s very soothing for sensitive skin or those with redness. I only used this in the morning as I use a thicker night cream in the evenings.
On days when my rosacea would flare up and my cheeks would be hot and red I would apply this and I could feel my skin being soothed. The redness wouldn’t disappear, but it would visibly decrease. It’s not going to clear up your rosacea (no skincare product can) but for me it worked well to reduce the symptoms. It’s also light enough to safely use around the eye area. I was out of eye cream for a few weeks and used this until I picked up a new one. It did a nice job of keeping my eye area hydrated though if you’re used to using a serum or an ultra-hydrating eye cream this might not cut it.
Other key ingredients include sea buckthorn to smooth, jojoba and coconut oil to moisturize and soothing aloe to calm the skin.
Overall I am really impressed with Odylique! First of all I didn’t have any negative reactions which is a big plus. And when my rosacea did flare up (about once a week) I did notice that when I applied all three products to my skin it really did minimize the symptoms. As I said, there is no magical “cure” for rosacea or for most skin conditions, but it’s possible to find products that help reduce the problems they cause. If I had to pick one product to repurchase it would be the Timeless Rose Moisturizer. Totally worth the price!

I’ve been using that moisturizer for the last few weeks and love it! It smells so rosy and has such a nice light texture while still being moisturizing. I haven’t used the other two products yet, but I’m really excited to now that I’ve read your review!

I really like the scent of rose so I absolutely love it. The last week or so my skin has been super dry and I found the moisturizer wasn’t quite hydrating enough so I have been adding a few drops of argan oil to it and that worked perfectly!

It was a totally new brand to me before Maria recommended them. I generally go for skincare that I can just go to the store and pick up. But I would consider ordering these products online again because I liked them so much!

Glad to hear these products worked so well for you. I’ve been thinking of what to use with a discount code that I have from them and that coconut cleanser or the rose toner sound lovely!

Both are amazing! I only wish the rose water was a larger bottle because I used it up so quickly lol
