Elaine Loves: Spring Florals

April 6, 2016 3 Comments

It’s finally spring and the sun has been gracing us with its presence! The days are getting longer and moods are lifting. I don’t know about you, but this puts me in a shopping mood! When I think about spring I almost always think about florals. Florals for spring is not a new trend but spring florals 2016 are popping up absolutely everywhere in fashion!

If you’re a little bit more conservative, or have a fairly neutral and monotone wardrobe, there’s no need to revamp your wardrobe to incorporate the spring florals 2016 trends. The absolute BEST way to make florals work with your existing wardrobe is by adding floral accents with accessories.

One of my favourite ways to add a pop of colour and florals is with shoes!

There are so many beautiful shoes out there this season that can work with your existing wardrobe and help add some brightness to your outfits. Floral pumps will work perfectly for the office or with jeans and shorts for more casual weekends out. Shoes like these can easily take you through spring and summer too!

Another great way to add florals easily is with the use of a scarf.

Scarves are great because they are practical during this transitional time of year and because they sit close to your face they help to brighten you up with minimal effort! A floral scarf can help to change up a neutral outfit completely and is appropriate for both office and weekend. Picture it worn over a crisp white blouse or basic shirt dress!

If large patterns or too much colour is out of your comfort zone, look for a scarf with a neutral base such as black and a smaller floral pattern.

A less bold scarf works incredibly well to add softness to an all neutral or monotone outfit. You’ll still be on trend incorporating florals into your wardrobe for spring but it will be in a subtler way. My favorite way to wear a scarf like this would be with a denim jacket or even a leather jacket over a basic t-shirt.

Hair scarves and wraps are making a huge come back this season!

This is a trend that many feel like they can’t pull off (including myself!) but I gave it a try and loved it! It’s the perfect way to add some colour to your weekend wear – especially if it’s still a little chilly out and you’re still bundled up.

It definitely helped get me into the spring spirit and wearing any colour hair wrap works perfectly with my casual outfits – such as the denim shirt I’m wearing in the photo. When the sun is out more consistently I’ll be pairing a brighter hair wrap with a bright bold lipstick! From a practical stand point, this hair wrap helps keep my head and ears warm in the still breezy spring days and helps hide my pesky greys 😉

So, let me know if you’ll be trying out the spring florals trends this season! Which one of these accessories do you love the most?

You look so cute with the head wrap! Florals in spring is so basic but I still live it! Winters are just way to dreary to deny a little color!
