Workaday Beauty: How To Wear Pink Eyeshadow

April 25, 2016 6 Comments

Guest post by Sarah from Workaday Beauty!

Hello, I’m Sarah from Workaday Beauty. While Megan is off experiencing birth and new motherhood, I’m bringing a pretty pink look to her blog in honour of the baby girl.

When most people think pink makeup, they tend to think lipstick or blush, but I personally really love pink eye shadow. There is a trick to it though, you have to find a flattery shade, and you need to add something else to it to avoid the dread sickly pink eye look.

My makeup look uses a bright pink lid, a sparkly purple eyeliner, a pop of blue under my lashes, and a subtly pink blush and lipstick.

I used my Sephora Color Wonderland palette for this look. The shades inside aren’t labelled or numbered, which makes pointing out the specific shades I used a bit tricky. I used a combination of three different pink shades on my eyes, and one turquoise blue shade under my lashes.

For my eyeliner, I started with a layer of Marcelle Dip-Pen in Purple, and topped it with Lisa Watier in Iridescent. Two coats of mascara, and my eyes were done.

For the rest of my face, I choose complimentary pink shades that added some colour, but kept the focus on my eyes.

I personally love my final look. It’s bright and cheerful and girly. Just perfect for the arrival of a new baby girl.

Have you tried any pink eye makeup looks?

Thanks so much to Megan for letting me post for her today!

I have serious lash envy every time I see Sarah’s makeup! How are they so long and beautiful??

I’ve never tried pink eyeshadow—I had no idea how to pull it off. Thanks for the tips!

Love this look, but I’m not sure that I would dare try it. I’ve got a bit more pink undertones in my skin… You may have convinced me to at least give it a try though!

So lovely… especially with your hair! I can’t quite pull off a pink as dark as that, but often will do a lighter more coral pink. I like that you paired it so beautifully with your blush. The whole look is very SPRING.
