Birth Announcements by Minted + $250 Giveaway

minted birth announcement

Hey everyone!

I haven’t been posting as often lately since I’ve been so busy with Piper but it feels good to be blogging again! This is a post I have been so excited to write because I am just so happy with how Piper’s birth announcements turned out. It’s crazy that the photos we used were taken when she was only a week old and she’s now 2 months! She has changed so much over the last few weeks it’s been incredible to see the small milestones she has been reaching along the way. She is smiling at us now and it’s pretty magical! Anyone who follows me on Snapchat (ladymeganjoy) knows I am basically obsessed with this tiny little human. Gah! She’s just so cute!

We decided to send out birth announcements after Piper was born and any time I need to send cards my go-to is always Minted.com. I’ve ordered my holiday cards from this San Francisco startup for the last two years and they are always beautifully designed and printed. So it was a no brainer that Minted was my first choice when it came to birth announcements for my little baby P.

One of the things I love most about Minted is that you’re able to customize pretty much everything about the design you choose. Here is how I personalized our birth announcements!

Screen2

Selecting and cropping images

We chose three images and cropped them to fit the template. This particular layout required square images so we lost a bit of the photo in the cropping process but the photos still turned out ok. If you select a different style you may not need to crop your photo at all, it really just depends on the design of the card.

Screen1

Personalizing text and selecting foil colour

We chose this foiled-pressed postcard style card and I really love the metallic details. There were four different shades of foiled metallic to choose from (gold, silver, rose and rose gold) so we went with the rose gold. We also added in Piper’s birth details including her date of birth, weight and length.  *Sigh* It still warms my heart every time I see that photo of Piper and Buffy 🙂 My two babies!

Screen3

Selecting envelopes and adding addresses

For no additional cost you can have the recipients address printed on the front of the envelopes along with a cute little design. We chose the one you see above with the baby onesie and bottle because obviously it’s suuuuper adorable! For an additional $35 you can add your return address on the back of the envelopes as well.

Didn’t the foil-pressed detail turn out beautifully? And the text looks hand written! James and I had so much fun making all the little changes to make this design really feel personal to us.

Now for a fun little surprise 🙂 I’m running a giveaway sponsored by Minted.com for a $250 (US) gift card for their website! You don’t want to miss this contest so be sure to enter below!

I didn’t know Minted has branched out so much. I think I would pick some artwork for my kids’ rooms. I love the baby animals prints, like the giraffe.

I didn’t know about the nursery decor. If I won I would either do birthday invites or Christmas cards this year… Or a silhouette print. Or anything really. As long as it comes with an envelope, Minted has the most luxurious envelopes ever! Once you try them you’ll never change printing companies.
