I’ve been living in Portland, Oregon for almost 9 months now and it’s finally starting to feel familiar and a little more like home. I drove to the mall recently and I didn’t even need to use Google Maps to get there! This was a pretty big milestone for me. If you’ve ever moved to a new city you know what I mean.
There’s always something fun going on in Portland and everyone is out and about even on rainy days (and there are a lot of those lol). I was out doing some shopping last week when I stumbled across this ModCloth Pop-Up! I didn’t have my camera with me so please excuse the iPhone photos!
ModCloth is calling this the ModCloth IRL tour and here’s how it works. They give you a clip board and you write down the name, size and product code of whatever item you want to try on. A staff member brings all the items to a fitting room for you to try on and whatever you decide to buy is shipped to you (for FREE!) within 3 business days. Pretty cool eh?
They had a nice selection of tops, pants, bathing suits and dresses. Being that I am 3 months postpartum and still have about 15 pounds to lose I am trying not to buy new clothes right now. Partly because I am planning on getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight in the next few months but also because it makes me sad when I pick up a size small (my normal size) and it’s still waaaay to tight. I’m human and I get insecure sometimes when it comes to my body and those extra pounds that are hanging on to mah belly.
I have a polka-dot one piece bathing suit from ModCloth and I love it. ModCloth is my go-to shop for buying swimwear! They have the cutest vintage-style swimsuits that are flattering on all body types. There were only about 5 in the store but they have a lot more available online.
There were sooo many cute dresses. There were even a few that could totally work as wedding dresses! I decided to try on a few items and ended up ordering two of them. Again, sorry for the poor quality of the photos but my iPhone was all I had with me 🙂

Bottom right: Portland Born to Explore Tee
I ended up buying the grey Portland tee and the black pants. The pants have elastic on the sides so they are basically maternity pants and you know I am all about that life. They are also high waisted so they help suck everything in if ya know what I mean!
I liked the dress but the sleeves were just a little too much for me. I was hoping the chambray top would work as a nursing top since it wraps around but the fit was a little weird. I’m really happy with the two things I ordered though!
They had a few home decor sections which I was seriously tempted by. They had so many cute little things that I totally don’t need but definitely wanted. I almost bought both of those mugs but considering I have approximately 19308 mugs already at home (I neeeed them all I swear!) I decided to exercise some restraint.
This location is here until July 31st so if you are in the Portland area you still have a few weeks to stop by. The August city stop is yet to be determined but they are heading to Pittsburgh in September!
Summer is the season of Pop-Up stores with everything from ice cream to makeup to clothing and more! What has been your favourite pop-up this summer? Food counts by the way. Food definitely counts 🙂

I hear ya with the not using Google Maps making you feel good! I know my way to get to a few cities over to go to one of my favourite coffee spots that takes like 2 highways to get to.
I remember your Snaps from the weekend at this Modcloth place!! Looks sooo cool.

It’s such a nice feeling when you start to feel comfortable driving in a new city without constantly feeling lost lol

So cute! I can’t wait to go. I still have 15 lbs to lose too and I so feel you on that feeling of when your old sizes can’t even be squeezed on! All in good time my friend

Haha we will get there! It’s easy to forget it took me 9 months of being pregnant to gain the weight and it’s only been 4 months since I had her. All in good time indeed 🙂

What a cute shop! Modcloth should do one just dedicated to their swimwear. They’re one of my favorite swimwear stores too!

So true! It can be really hard to find cute and style one-piece bathing suits and ModCloth has so many!
