Hello friends, it’s been a while! I’ve been busy with #MomLife and I’ve been missing blogging so dang much! If you want to see what I’m up to between blog posts you can follow me on Snapchat (@ladymeganjoy) or Instagram. Let’s be internet friends! Or real friends if you live in Portland, Oregon!
I’m so happy I finally had some time to take photos this weekend because I’ve been wanting to blog about these new lip pencils for weeks now. Nudestix previously released two collections of Lip + Cheek Pencils. First was their original formula which is mostly satin finishes and earlier this year they launched their Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencils.
I’m a pah-retty big fan of both formulas so I was really interested to try their newest collection, the Nudestix Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm ($24 US, $28 CAD). I was sent three shades to try out, Rebel (pale pink), Luxe (peachy pink) and Fate (clear). They all come in their own metal tin with a sharpener and mirror. I’m not going to lie, I have a ton of these tins piling up under my sink right now. And by a ton I mean like 15. They are amazing for travel so I never throw them away even though my stash is getting a little ridiculous
Here are the quick stats:
- contains 30 % plant ingredients (rapeseed, sunflower, cotton seed, and soybean) to keep your lippies soft and hydrated
- contains antioxidant vitamin E
- formulated without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates and not tested on animals
- available in 8 different shades
Let’s be real, that’s a really bad arm swatch. Truth be told I was snapping these photos while Piper was napping and I was in a mega rush to finish before she woke up! *sigh* Gone are the days of perfectly symmetrical swatches. Such is life with an infant!
Here are all three shades swatched on my lips:
All three colours are super glossy and hydrating. The coverage is sheer (no mirror required!) and I loved how the formula felt on my lips. It’s smooth and buttery but not sticky at all. I found myself reapplying every few hours which is pretty standard for me when it comes to lip balms. I don’t normally use these pencils for blush but I did use Rebel one my cheeks once and it blended out really nicely and had a lovely dewy finish.
FYI it does need to be sharpened which isn’t the most convenient, but if you like easy to apply lip products these are right up your alley!
* This post contains some products that were sent to me for consideration. As always, my reviews and opinions are my own.

For someone who doesn’t really like “nude” makeup I am surprised as how much I love this brand! Their eye pencils are amazing. Basically the only eye shadow I wear anymore!

I love rebel!! I feel like that’s a color Paul would really like on me, he only ever comments on my makeup when I wear pink lipstick and he’s way into it! I can’t complain, pinks are definitely the most fun lip color 💄
