Valentines Day Makeup Look

January 31, 2017 20 Comments

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’ll admit, it’s been a challenge to balance motherhood and the blog. Some people juggle both so seamlessly but I have really found it difficult. Piper is way more active these days and napping less too, so my “me” time has taken a serious hit. I am working on finding time that I can really focus on creating content but it’s been a struggle.

That being said, I appreciate each person that takes the time to read my posts. This is such a fun creative outlet for me. Being a stay-at-home mom is amazing, but can sometimes feel isolating. Blogging has given me a great way to express myself and I am hoping to update the blog more regularly in 2017!

Big news – James and I have a babysitter booked for Valentine’s Day! Woop woop! We don’t have date nights very often so I am really looking forward to it. A few weeks back I got this gorgeous new lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury called Valentine and knew it would be perfect for my Valentine’s Day makeup. This Limited Edition lipstick is a pretty rose-petal pink.

The  Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Valentine contains Lipstick Tree extract which is super hydrating. The formula applies really smooth and has a lovely satin finish. For this makeup look I paired it with a few other Charlotte Tilbury goodies!

What I used:

  • Primer: Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Face Primer
  • Foundation: Make Up Forever Water Blend Face & Body Foundation in Y225
  • Blush: Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Moon Beach
  • Eyeshadow: Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Black Diamonds (on lids and as eyeliner on bottom lash line)
  • Eyeliner: Charlotte Tilbury The Feline Flick in Panther
  • Mascara: Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara
  • Brows: Dior Brow Styler Ultra Fine Precision Brow Pencil in Universal Brown
  • Lipstick: Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Valentine

This whole makeup look only took me about 10 minutes. The eyeshadow and blush are both cream products that I just applied and blended with my finger tips. Super easy! It’s funny, James and I don’t normally do anything for Valentine’s Day but now that we have Piper it’s a lovely excuse to set aside a little time for just the two of us. February 14th can’t come soon enough!

Are you doing anything for Valentine’s Day this year? Celebrating Galentine’s Day with your ladies? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Thank you so much Elaine, that means a lot. I really feel like I’ve been slacking in most areas since Piper was born. You’ve been doing a greta job juggling it all! xo

This whole look is so gorgeous on you! I love the lipstick, certainly, but it’s your eyes that really standout for me in the photos. So pretty!

Thanks so much Chelle! It was fun to get all dolled up. I am definitely going to recreate this on Valentine’s Day!

This lipstick shade looks gorgeous on you! It’s definitely a shade I would reach for too. 🙂
It’s hard finding the time to blog with a baby huh? What really helped me is that M has been a great sleeper from the start, so every night she’d be down by 7pm-8pm then I had the evening to myself (which is still the case). But I know that every kid is different and not all of them sleep a lot. Also after spending an entire day entertaining a baby we don’t always have the energy to do anything once they go to sleep!

I actually have a ton of time in the evenings which is great (she goes to bed at 6:30pm). I can get a lot of writing done during that time, but I can’t take photos. I don’t have lights so I have to take photos during the day and it’s nearly impossible. She doesn’t nap very long and that time is spent eating and showering lol So finding time to take the photos has been a real challenge. If you have any tips I’d love to hear them!

What a beautiful look – I love that it’s understated but still spot on! Your eyeliner is perfect – Such a goal of mine that I never seem able to achieve!

Thanks so much Erin! I do love eyeliner, especially winged liner 🙂 Years and years of practice and even still I often have trouble getting it just right lol

Only 10 minutes? Even I can find that much time to get dolled up every so often!

Glad you and the hubs are making time for yourselves. It’s so hard as new parents to make the time to connect! I hope you guys have fun! We don’t have plans, besides my older daughter’s Valentine’s Day at preschool. I’ve never been into the romantic part of Feb 14, but I do love the friends, chocolate, hearts, etc. part!

Gorgeous shade! I love how light and natural looking it is, while still adding a bit of color. Will definitely keep this one in mind!

Thanks Brianne! I love playing with makeup but my looks usually end up more on the natural side. Glad you liked it!

I love that lipstick! Looks like the perfect pink colour and a fabulous choice for Valentine’s Day! I am a “my lips but better” type of lip gal, so this looks like it would be a nice pink option. I also love that nail polish you have on!

Try not to feel bad about posting infrequently. I am a new blogger and am having a hard time getting into the rhythm! I am a teacher so I often have planning or marking to do and then everything else falls to the wayside. Trying to get better at organizing my time!

It’s so hard finding the time to take photos. Now that Piper is crawling I never have a spare minute during the day. Thankfully I can do a lot of writing once she goes to bed, but I still wish I could post more often. I’ll get into a groove eventually 🙂 I bet you are crazy busy working full time and being a mama, it’s such an accomplishment. Hats off to you!
