Maxi Dress Season: Spring in Portland

May 9, 2017 6 Comments

Happy Tuesday! It’s finally starting to feel like spring here in Portland and I am so excited about it. It’s been a long winter filled with rain and snow so I am more than ready for the warmer weather. A few weeks back it was warm enough to wear this sleeveless pocket maxi dress all day without getting cold. No cardigan required!

PinkBlush Salmon Sleeveless Pocket Maternity Maxi Dress

I have so many items from PinkBlush that have transitioned from maternity to postpartum seamlessly. Most of their items are created to be worn from pregnancy to motherhood and beyond. I did have to invest in some specific maternity items but for the most part my clothes from PinkBlush have been worn a ton since Piper was born too.

I’ve always preferred flowy silhouettes so a maxi dress is basically my go-to when I can find one that fits. I’m 5″2 so like most dresses this one is a bit long. I tie it on one side or in the front to make it a bit shorter (like this). Also the fabric is also on the thinner side, so you’ll need to layer a camisole or slip underneath so your bra lines don’t show through. This would also be perfect as a maternity dress!

Thanks to my blogger pal March from theptowngirls.com for this necklace! I did a “Mommy & Me” photoshoot with Piper a few weeks ago and she lent me a few of her necklaces to wear. This was one of my favourites!

I should note that I took these photos at 7pm and the sun was STILL shining. It’s so weird that in Portland the hottest time of day is 5pm – I still haven’t gotten used to that. Is it starting to feel like spring where you live? Summer can’t come soon enough 🙂

The combo of the dress with the necklace are great! I am also 5’2″ and though I love maxi dresses often find myself having to wear heels so they are not dragging on the floor, so I appreciate the tip about how to tie it up!

That looks really comfy, and that necklace is so cute and dresses it up nicely!

Isn’t it so great how light it is early in the morning now AND later at night? I love it! And, this dress is gorgeous on you. I adore dresses with pockets!
