I love baking. I don’t do it as much anymore now that I have a toddler running around, but when I can find the time I really enjoy it. I am looking forward to the time when Piper is able to help me bake, but right now she’s more likely to eat whatever ingredients are within her grasp. As a result she has been delegated to roles such as “dump this DRY ingredient into the bowl” or “stir this dough that’s already been mixed”.
I am lucky enough to be on the Foodstirs PR list and occasionally I get kits from them to try out. I also regularly buy their cookie mixes from our local Fred Meyer grocery store because they are so delicious and easy to make. You can usually find them in the “Natural” section as their mixes are organic. I only share PR samples that I actually like (you’d be surprised at my graveyard of samples that never make it to the blog because I just don’t love them). This brand was co-created by Sarah Michelle Gellar aka Buffy aka my favourite tv show character of life. #BuffyForever! I was sent the Foodstirs Earth Celebration Kit which was created in honour of Earth Day!
The base of this mix is the Foodstirs Organic Snickerdoodle Blondie Mix which is essentially a brownie mix. You just add two eggs and some melted butter to the packet that’s included. It smelled amazing! Piper also helped me scoop it into the silicon pots.
The icing powder comes in a pack that you add butter and greek yogurt to. You top the brownie with this icing (leaving a little bit to use at the end) and then add the Organic crushed graham cracker crumbs.
The final step is to add some green dye to the remaining icing and dot the top of the pots (making little “plants”) and toss a gummy worm on there too. They turned out so cute and Piper loved them. And of course I had one too, it’s only fair lol
Did you know that Foodstirs Minute Mug Cake Mixes are now available at all Starbucks? And many of their cookie and cake mixes can be found at your local grocery store. If you want to try one of their kits online you can receive 15% off sitewide on your first order! Just click here and use code MOREFLOUR15.
Happy baking!

She’s still so little. I am looking forward to the time where she can “help” more. It will be such a fun thing to do together!

Piper looks so enthralled with the whole process! My littles like to help bake, too, though my kitchen always ends up much messier than yours did. 😉

I think she was shocked that I was letting her touch any of the items haha!

How cute are those little silicone pots!?! I used to love baking with my kiddos when they were little – it teaches so much more than cooking skills, and it’s such great way to spend time to together.

I know, the silicon pots are so cute and worked so well. As you’re right, it’s such a great way to make memories together as a family!
