Welcome to my first bump update this pregnancy! I can’t believe I am already almost half way through. I was so much better about documenting everything the first time around but I am determined to make sure I remember to share at least a bit of my pregnancy with baby #2.
I am feeling so much better than I was during the first trimester! I was pretty sick the first 16 weeks. I was dealing with a lot nausea and throwing up which was tough while chasing a 2 year old around. I am so thankful that recently the morning/all day sickness passed and I am no longer feel so crummy. Yay!
Piper took a nice long nap today so I was able to snap a few photos! I got dressed up today because it was my friend Jane’s Baby Sprinkle. For those who may not know what that is – it’s a more casual gathering where friends come together to celebrate a mom who is adding another member to their family! It’s a nice way to “shower” a friend with support and love but is much more low-key than a shower for a first time mom.
I had so much fun spending time with Jane and talking about her precious baby #3 who is set to arrive in December. And it was a great excuse to wear this maxi dress that I bought in the summer (before I was pregnant). I just added a jean jacket to make it more fall appropriate and it worked really well. The dress is from a brand that makes clothes for maternity and beyond so while I wore this pre-pregnancy it is working really well with my growing bump as well!
Overall I am feeling super excited for our baby to arrive in April, but I am still having some anxiety about handling two kids (I’m sure moms of 3+ kids are rolling their eyes at me right now lol). Piper is an incredible kiddo but she is definitely going through some normal “terrible twos” behaviour which leaves me feeling pretty overwhelmed some days. I am sure her emotions are only amplified by the fact that she knows there’s a new baby coming and that things will be changing for her. I know as moms we rise to the occasion when called, but I am a little nervous about handling a very spirited toddler and a newborn with no family support.
What’s Happening At 19 Weeks:
- Baby is as big as a mango and weighs about half a pound!
- Baby is moving like crazy! All day and night this little one is dancing around in my belly
- I have a cold 🙁 Sickness usually lasts longer when you’re pregnant because your immune system is suppressed. I’m going on week 3 of this cold so I am hoping it clears up soon!
- Piper is getting excited! She talks about the baby a lot and gives my belly button lots of kisses
If you’re pregnant too I’d love to hear how you are feeling and when you are due! Also if you like this dress it is currently on sale for Black Friday.

My cold lasted so much longer when I was pregnant, too! Ugh! Glad you are feeling past the morning sickness though! Crazy that you’re feeling so many kicks, hope that is fun. 🙂
I’m sure you will do great, you are so patient and sweet with Piper!

Thank you so much. I never got sick with Piper and now I know what people mean when they say sickness is harder while pregnant. This little girl moves like CRAZY, all day every day haha!
