It’s that time of year again! Time to dress up the kids in their cute little holiday outfits and bring them to see Santa. Will they cry? Probably. Will you leave with priceless photos? Yes!
HGTV’s Santa Headquarters is back again at Washington Square Mall in Portland, Oregon. It’s open now until December 24th (between 10am-7pm). You can beat the lines and make a reservation here or show up whenever it’s convenient. We have gone every year since Piper was born and it’s become a really special holiday tradition for our family.
We started off with a stop at the Naughty or Nice O’Meter. You enter your kiddos name and have them stand on the footprints while they get “scanned”. Piper made the Nice List this year which she was clearly shocked by 😉
Next we checked out the Elf-ID card which adds your photo to your choice of adorable elf. How cute is Piper as a cherry elf??
I was a little nervous about how Willow would react to seeing Santa, but she didn’t shed a tear! She mostly just looked completely shocked and stunned which made for some amusing photos. Piper is such a good big sister and kept holding Willow’s hand to try to make sure she didn’t get scared. It was so sweet to watch!
They also have these beautifully decorated trees around Santa’s HQ so of course we had to stop and take a few photos there too. I had to stop Piper from grabbing handfuls of the fake snow (I get it, it’s so fluffy and tempting to touch lol) but somehow we managed to get a few decent pictures 🙂
If you live in the Portland area I would highly recommend stopping by HGTV’s Santa Headquarters at Washington Square. Are photos with Santa part of your holiday tradition? Let me know in the comments!

So adorable! TBH we have never done Santa photos. My older daughter burst into tears whenever she saw him when she was little, so we never pushed it. She’s older now but it’s never really been our thing. I love the extras here at this Portland Santa experience!
